The story behind the image

Dumfries impressed us massively, not just because it was our first night when we where visiting Scotland in 2005. As we had hoped for (and expected), the weather was picture-perfect and definitely like it should be in summer.

So, on our first evening in Scotland we took a walk along the river Nith into the town center. The public park and the small buildings of the town were beautiful, especially since the Dumfries Sheriff Court dominates the skyline with its towers.

Dumfries – the perfect starting point for a trip to Scotland.
