The story behind the image
I had been booked to cover the church ceremony and some official photos prior to the ceremony. The weather early in May was very good – warm and sunny, but not hot. And the weather forecast promised no rain whatsoever.
So we started the offical session in the city center of Munich around noon. Apart from many portrait shots I also wanted to cover the bride’s flower bouquet and the rings on the hands, and ideally shot in just a single image.
The result worked well for the couple (and me). I like that bit of blur (thanks to f/2.8) and the composition with the slight upward tilt suggested by the hands. The ring of the bride (with a diamond) got the center stage, and the skin tones turned out nicely.
Lovely.
