The story behind the image
We had arrived in Plettenberg Bay early that day and had already checked in to our B&B for the night. That left us plenty of time for exploring Plettenberg Bay. Its key feature certainly is Keurboomstrand, the giant beach that stretches towards east.
At Beacon Way we found this location, one of several excellent viewpoints.
The area has changed a bit since 2004, by the way. The dense scrub that can be seen at the bottom right has been washed away by one unusually heavy storm a couple of years after I took the photo.. Today there are just small dunes covered by some light grass and scrub. But nature is slowly recovering.
