The story behind the image
The last couple of days of our 2005 trip to Scotland were reserved for Edinburgh. While we had experienced the city mostly in rain, one evening the rain stopped. We had been dining with friends from the U.S. and took a walk along Princess Street, one of the large streets. I was still missing a (somewhat) decent shot of the castle, and so I placed the tiny Sony DSC P-72 point-and-shoot camera on a pod somewhere near the corner Princess Street/The Mound. The self exposure timer eliminated camera shake, and I like the result very much – if only the image was a bit larger!
