AUGUST 2008 – View across the magnificent Lago Maggiore in Brissago, Switzerland. Photo © Mark Zanzig/zanzig.com
The story behind the image
Access to the Lago Maggiore is shared by two countries: Italy in the South and Switzerland in the North. We stayed for a week on the Swiss side in Brissago, which is just a short drive away from the Italian border. The area is called Ticino and it combines the best of two worlds: You get the Swiss accuracy and Italian lifestyle.
I took this photo upon our arrival in Brissago. Our hotel was located high above the lake, and it took us several turns to actually get to it. however, the view can only be described as stunning.
A lovely place.
