The story behind the image

Every now and then (and not too often) we do hikes in the Bavarian Alps. Usually, these are rather easy and not too exhausting.

On one beautiful autumn day, though, we decided to hike all the way up from the SPitzingsee parking lot to the top of the Bodenschneid at 1668 meters. The height difference of about 600 meters was moderate but some parts of the track were quite narrow and steep. Admittedly, once we reached the top, the view was breathtaking – just like the hike itself.

The top of Bodenschneid is said to be the perfect place for sunsets, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll try to capture the sunset from there on a beautiful day. (Our descent also took a while, and I’m a bit concerned about walking down when the darkness sets in.)
