The story behind the image
We had crossed the Tropic of Capricorn before. Five years before to be precise, in Namibia, thousands of kilometers away from where we were now, and the location looked vastly different. But despite being just an imaginary line, states seem to like the idea of making it physically visible.
At the Kruger National Park they even put a nice line of cobble stones into the asphalt and erected a small informative plate with further information. Yet, there was a scary warning next to the road, saying:
PLEASE TAKE NOTE
You may exit your vehicle at this point to view the information board and take photographs. Please note that you do so entirely at your own risk as there may be dangerous animals about that may pose the risk of personal injury or death.

We had seen a similar warning at the Olifants Bridge and we were alert. More alert than on the bridge, because we were surrounded by trees and scrub where animals could easily hide, and we were easy prey.
We did not see any wild animals, fortunately.
