The story behind the image

In April 2007 we re-visited Zurich in Switzerland and were quite happy about the fabulous weather. Spring was in full swing, and we could already take a walk in light clothes.

The view from the Quaibrücke along the Limmat river was impressive. We admired the historic buildings of the Stadthausquai with the churches Fraumünster and St. Peter as iconic landmarks. The boat rental company was already ready to serve customers.

I think Zurich is probably very close to the perfect city. It’s large (but not too large), it has an international airport, it is located in the center of Europe, and it is clean and peaceful. It does not come as a surprise to me that it is one of the most expensive cities to live in, worldwide. Some reports say that it is even more expensive than New York City.

The perfect destination for a weekend trip.
