The story behind the image
Two years ago, on a beautiful day in February, we took a long walk from Tutzing at the Starnberger See in Bavaria to the Ilkahöhe which provides stunning panoramic views the lake – and if you are lucky – the Alps.
In my photo, the top of church St. Nikolaus in Oberzeismering lurks through the bare trees in its neighborhood, almost like a lighthouse for the people, a sign of restistance and hope that believers are looking for, be they in the buzzing cities or far out on the countryside.
