Otto at the Beach

UNDATED – Otto Schweim poses for the photographer at the Baltic Sea in Germany. Scan © by Mark Zanzig/zanzig.com

The story behind the image

This image of the family archive shows my grandfather, Otto Schweim (1894-1956), posing for his wife at a beach at the Baltic Sea in Germany. It could be in Kiel or somewhere near Grömitz which is situated about 30 km east of Malente-Gremsmühlen, where the family lived from 1944 to 1949. The image is not precisely dated, though. The image is undated, sadly, but I think it was shot in late summer 1943.
