The story behind the image
In Munich, it can get nice and warm as early as March or April. On such days, the people are heading for the English Garden or the sand banks of the Isar river, even if the trees have just started to get their leafs. Of course, the water of the river is usually too cool to take a bath so early in the year – it comes directly from the Alps.
My image shows the iconic view from the Ludwigsbrücke towards north. The first bridge is a pedestrian bridge (Kabelstieg) while the second bridge (Maximilliansbrücke) is a larger bridge that leads up to the Maximillianeum which is home to the Bavarian parliament. In the far distance you can see the angel of peace overlooking the Isar.
