The story behind the image
From Bantry on the Irish west coast we followed the Ring of Kerry which lead us along the coastline of County Kerry. Exciting photostops waited for us at almost every turn. However, some sections of the N70 highway lead through the countryside, for example between Strandsend and Kells.
When we approched Kells we were quite happy to see the ocean again. The sun had come out and illuminated a group of houses located between the viewpoint next to the N70 and the water, an almost magical sight.
Looking at our map we knew that we’d be soon driving along the coastline again – and we were excited…
(By the way, since September 1999 another house has been built that sits right next to the junction in the image.)
