The story behind the image
We experienced the Scottish coast between Fraserburgh and Elgin as extremely beautiful. You’ll have beaches, towns, cliffs, secluded villages, lighthouses, golf courses. Countless photo stops slowed us down, so it took us almost a day to get from Rattray Head to Elgin, a distance of just 70 miles!
This is the lighthouse of Macduff, marking the entrance to Macduff harbour. I really like the whitecaps of the waves that are an indicator of the strong wind that was blowing on that day. Tha dark blue of the North Sea suggests a deep coldness and creates the perfect contrast for the whitecaps. Yes, it can be quite rough up here in Scotland.
