The story behind the image

We came from Aultbea and headed for the Isle of Skye. But before driving across the Skye Bridge, we stopped for two nights in Plockton, a quiet picturesque village situated next to Loch Carron. It’s the perfect place for excursions to Eilean Donan Castle or to the Atlantic Ocean. During the day you will find many tourists here, clogging up the small main street, but in the late afternoon and evening, it gets quiet and peaceful.

My photo shows tourists boarding the Argus, a small boat used for Calum’s One Hour Seal Trips. I really like the bright, vibrant colors created by the afternoon light.

By the way, Calum Mackenzie still runs the business in 2024, albeit with a new boat. The Argus served the excursions from July 1999 for nearly ten years.
