The story behind the image
I have blogged several images of the Sossusvlei in Namibia already, because it is such an inspiring, almost extraterrestrial place.
Here’s an image of the paved highway that will ultimately lead you to the dunes you’re probably looking for. You can’t miss them as this is the only road through the national park. This viewpoint is located roughly 23 km west of the park entrance. It will take you just about 20 minutes to get there, and once there, you will already get a sense of the breath-taking surroundings of the park, the lonliness – and the peace.
And I promise you that your excitement will grow the closer you get to the giant dunes at the end of the highway!
