The story behind the image
When we were in Edinburgh, the rain had begun. It seemed to rain for hours. We waited in Cafés. We visited galleries. Museums. Went shopping. But the rain would not stop. How unfair!
It even continued pouring down when we left Scotland on the 30th July 2005. We did a side trip to Jedburgh to see the beautiful ruins of Jedburgh Abbey. Fortunately, it was just a drizzle, and we hoped for the rain to stop completely. (It didn’t. In fact, it was getting stronger once we left Jedburgh.)
Yet, I share this image because I like the composition and colors. Of course, the P&S camera could not cope with the harsh contrast between the clouds and the walls of the former building. I also like the fact that a tourist is reviewing a photo he just shot from the other side of the ruins.
It would be great to re-visit Jedburgh on a sunny summer day and take a decent shot. 🙂
