The story behind the image
Why is it that the best Christmas gifts turn out to be those you make to yourself? Well, I think it’s because only you know exactly what you want.
When writing up my Gear Talk #6 covering my love for the Canon AE-1 Program body, I realized that the image I had put up there was not good enough. Heck, it was mediocre. That’s not a big surprise as I used my Kodak DC4800 Zoom Digital point and shoot camera in 2002 for the shot. It could not cope with the (bad) light, and the resolution was tiny.
Soooo, I started looking for a used Canon AE-1 Program body in silver, ideally with an original 50mm lens attached which was the standard (kit) lens back then. I found one, and purchased it for little money. It seems to be working all OK, and I will start shooting film again, just for nostaligic reasons.
But before I will dive into that experience, I shot a couple of decent photos of the body, and this is a basic one, but I like it.
