The story behind the image
During our 2006 trip to the island of Mallorca we were visiting the Santuari de la Consolació in the south-east of the island. It is an old monastery that was first mentioned in 1523. It sits quietly on the top of a hill, just off C-717 between Santanyi and S’Alqueria Blanca.
This massive wooden door is the main entrance of the Santuari. Once you enter, you will be greeted by a tiny, yet ultimately beautiful inner courtyard that consists of several palms and trees, all enclosed by the big walls.
