The story behind the image
The city of Munich is busy using the park of the 1972 Olympic Games for sports and events. Especially during the summer, there are countless activities. One of these is the Outdoor Sports Festival that presents, well, outdoor sports. In 2023, the folks in the townhall pulled together 50 sports that could be experienced on a single day in the park, ranging from climbing to cycling, to skateboarding, to tennis.
There were even dragon boats! My photo shows the colorful head ornament of such a dragon boat, operated by the Kanu-Regattaverein-München e.V.. The boats for 22 rowers were pretty cool and quite a sight on the Olympic Lake.
