The story behind the image
Here’s a nice summer photo that shows my father and me with our Fiat 124, a simple, reliable car that had been produced from 1966 to 1970. My parents had purchased it in 1972, so it was probably about 4 years old by then (but I can’t really say.) I do remember our frequent trips from Kiel to Flensburg and Tarp to visit the family. We kept this car until 1976 when my parents would switch to a BMW 1602.

The early 70s were colorful years, apparently. How on Earth could my mother pick a pink T-shirt for me? (Admittedly, I loved it for the personalized print of my name on the front.)
