The story behind the image
The last couple of days for our trip to Scotland were reserved for Edinburgh. While we had experienced the city mostly in rain, one evening the rain had stopped. We had been dining with friends from the United States and took a walk along Princess Street, one of the large streets. Buses and some cars rushed by, and I thought this angle, with the Royal Scottish Academy – a major art museum – would be nice.
I had just brought the tiny Sony digital P&S and found a pod that I could use as a makeshift tripod for stability. Otherwise I would not have been able to expose for 0.4 seconds. The result is not spectacular by any means, but I like the way the moving lights of a double decker bus that passed right in front of me.
