The story behind the image
On Christmas 1946, the kids received their white fur coats, and a few days later they were already needed. The winter 1946/47 was another cold winter, and the coats effectively protected against the weather. Of course, today it is not appropriate to wear fur coats – but these were different times. It’s interesting to see that my grandmother (on the right) and the nanny wear tights despite the deep snow and low temperatures.
