The story behind the image
The winter of 1965/66 had brought heavy snow to Kiel in Germany. But at the age of three months I did not take notice. My parents decided that I needed to get out, and so my father pushed me in the stroller from the appartment in Knooper Weg on the snow covered sidewalk to the Schrevenpark.
This photo was taken by my mother, and I like to see my father young (27 years) and fresh. But I also discover a bit of scepticism in his look, probably not just because of the snow. After all, he wore quite formal clothes – a tie and a light coat!
I also love to see the corner of Knooper Weg/Gutenbergstraße in heavy snow and very little traffic.
