The story behind the image
This is our local Lutheranian church, the Heilandskirche in Unterhaching, Germany.
This photo dates back exactly six years. On Christmas Eve in 2017 we experienced a wonderfully cold afternoon as we walked to the traditional church service.
By the way, it is impossible to shoot this image today because the side building (on the left) has been replaced by a modern concrete community house. While this is not bad per se and has been carefully planned, it does not provide the same, old-fashioned feeling of a historic church anymore. But heck, the times they are changin’, so let’s just embrace the new state.
I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas!
