The story behind the image
Here’s a beautiful shot from the family archive – my mother Inga poses with my aunt Editha in the dunes of a beach near Heiligenhafen in Germany.
It was a sunny day in 1964, most likely early summer, and apparently the mood was very good. The sun was shining brightly, and the ladies posed not just next to a small boat the discovered at the beach. They enjoyed the sun, protected against the wind by the dunes. I guess, today the dunes are all protected against the sun seekers.
At the age of 21 (Inga) and 22 (Editha), both were ready to conquer the world.
Lovely.
