The story behind the image
A trip to Salzburg in Austria is rewarding at any time of the year. During the Christmas season, however, you’ll be able to experience the beauty of Salzburg downtown in the best possible ways. Countless tiny lights illuminate the beautifully decorated windows of the small shops – a genuine contrast against the faceless malls and super stores that can be found outside of the city, presenting the same goods as everywhere around the globe.
The blue hour was in full swing and presented a challenge to me: I didn’t have a tripod and I didn’t want to go higher than ISO 1000 to avoid visible noise. Eeek. I opted for 1/30 sec. at f/2.8 – if only I had brought a tripod!
But I love the result: an image full of cozyness of the decorated city center!
