The story behind the image
We did an afternoon winter walk in a forest near Hohenbrunn in Bavaria. While we had no snow at all, the temperatures were pretty low. The sun was shining brightly, and this view into a part of the forst revealed countless dead trees on the ground.
This area of the forest is intended as a space where shelter is provided by those trees. Insects and small animals can protect against the cold and live in their natural habitat. I really like this concept of the forest management.
I also like my image, especially the low winter sun that peeked through the trees. Thanks to the aperture of f/16, beautiful beams emerged from the sunlight. I am a big fan of the reduced color set – all autumn brown and orange.
Very nice.
