The story behind the image
One of the essential stops on our way from Victoria heading north was Duncan, situated about 60 km north of Victoria. It’s a large community with plenty of opportunities for shopping. It’s key attraction, however, is the Cowichan Valley Museum in the center.
Located in the former train station and operated by the Cowichan Historical Society, it presents the rich history of the area inside. Several totem poles exhibited on the outside underline that Duncan is also known as The City Of Totem Poles. From here, you can take a trail explaining the historic background of totem poles.
