The story behind the image
Unterhaching is situated directly south of Munich, and during winter there can be lots of snow. On the 1st December 2023, heavy snowfall set in around 3 pm, and it kept snowing for 24 hours. On the next morning I went to the bakery to buy some rolls and grabbed my mobile phone to take some first impressions.
This photo shows the Walter-Paetzmann-Straße. Everything had been covered by snow: the trees, the cars, and the street. At this time, it had snowed about 30 cm, but it would add another 15 to 20 cm until afternoon when it finally stopped snowing.
Such masses of snow are an unusual sight and have caused serious trouble for the people as public transport came basically to a halt.
