The story behind the image
When we were in Edinburgh, the rain set in. It seemed to rain for hours. We waited in Cafés. We visited galleries and museums. Went shopping. But the rain would not stop. How unfair!
It even continued pouring down when we left Scotland on the 30th July 2005. When we passed the border between Scotland and England, we saw the large borderstone next to the A68 that greets visitors daring to enter Scotland from the South. I could not resist and take a photo of this landmark – despite the heavy rain. It kept splashing on the lens of my tiny P&S camera. And that’s why I like this image.
P.S.: Needless to say, just a Mile down the highway in England, the sun was shining brightly and temperatures were rising by the minute. (Just kidding.) 😉
