The story behind the image
When I was in Mexico City, I visited the city center – the area around the central plaza called Zócalo. From here, it’s just a short walk to the Torre Latinoamericana, the iconic building that overtowers the city. You can use the elevators to travel up to the 42nd floor and enjoy fantastic views across the city. (Wikipedia has much more details about the tower.)
This photo shows the Torre Latinoamericana from the Avendia Francisco I. Madero. Comparing recent photos of this location, I see that it has changed significantly. The parking lots on the left have gone, the traffic has gone, too, and the street has been turned into a pedestrian area. While this move has certainly taken away the former charme of the street, it has added to the quality of living for the people.
Nice.
