The story behind the image
Here is another photo of Siena in Italy. As we approached Siena from the North, It had begun to rain. It was a heavy rain shower, but as the weather had been changing quickly, we decided to visit the iconic Tuscan town anyway, hoping for the rain to go away as quickly as it had come.
But the rain persisted, albeit not as heavily as before. Like most towns, Siena did not look too good in rain. The tourists had mostly moved into the restaurants and shops or stayed in their hotels. The few people who were on the streets were locals.
When we went along the Via Banchi di Sopra and passed the Piazza Tolomei. The churchbells chimed, and a large group of people left the church San Cristoforo that has been built before the 11th century.
The people had anticipated the rain and opened their umbrellas. Within a few minutes, the small piazza had turned into a sea of umbrellas, an unusual sight for Siena.
