The story behind the image
On the 18th November 1966, my grandmother Edith Schweim died in Kiel in Germany way too early at the age of just 61 years.
I stumbled upon this fun shot that Petra captured of me this summer in Grömitz at the Baltic Sea. I call it a fun shot because we staged the photo to resemble a shot that my grandfather Otto had taken of Edith at the same location almost eight decades ago. I even applied a black and white look to get closer to the original. I hope Edith and Otto would have liked the photo.
In any event, I am thinking of her today.
