The story behind the image
Tegernsee is one of the many beautiful locations in the Bavarian Alps. Even better: it is pretty close to Munich. A one hour drive will take you to an entirely different world. Enjoy easy hikes into the surrounding hills or long, relaxing walks along the lake front. If you get hungry, why not turn to the Bräustüberl, a traditional Bavarian restaurant, pub, and beer garden (if weather permits) which is part of the huge monastery.
On a sunny winter day we travelled to Tegernsee and walked to Rottach-Egern. I took this image from the tiny peninsula between the two villages. I like the colorful roof and walls of the monastery that contrast well with the rather subdued colors around it.
