The story behind the image
I’m always looking for images that are typical for a place or region, ideally without entering the dangerous area of Kitsch – which is clearly a risk.
Near San Gimignano I found this awesome alley of cypresses that leads up to the Casa al Chino wine art boutique and B&B. It is part of the large LaTorre estate with various types of wines and olives.
I love the almost perfect symmetry and simplicity of the cypress alley. There are just the cypresses, the gravel road, and the blue sky. It amkes you think about what may be at the end of the gravel road, or behind.
Lovely. Need to stay there, maybe next year.
