The story behind the image
When we were in Grömitz in Germany we made a full-day excursion to the island of Fehmarn, visiting Burg auf Fehmarn, a beautiful city full of history, and the Flügge Lighthouse at the south-western tip of the island.
My photo shows the tower of the historic church St. Nikolai as it lurks through the trees in the neighborhood. I really love the simplicity of the image, and the vast contrast of the artificial tower and the nearby trees. There’s are just the trees, the church, and the blue sky.
