The story behind the image
The zoo in Hannover, Germany, calls itself The Adventure Zoo, and rightly so. Here’s yet another proof to support this claim: The pelican cherish was open to the public, and so we went in (like many other visitors) to be slightly closer to these wonderful birds. Suddenly, a group of pelicans marched slowly in and made their way through the visitors. We stepped aside to give way. However they did not progress but were super relaxed and even allowed gentle strokes along their heads. Please feel free to read more about this bird at Wikipedia.
I could take this close-up, something I had never expected! This turned our visit early on into an awesome experience. When in Hannover, do not miss the zoo!
