The story behind the image
Before touring Alsace I had never heard of the town Ribeauvillé. But we stopped here in the afternoon and walked around its beautiful historic town center. The city walls were established in the 13th century, and some some parts do still exist.
Today, the town is best known for the surrounding vineyards, and it is a good place to enjoy tasty food with matching local wines.
The afternoon sun was already low, and the guests of the Hôtel Au Lion were enjoying the mild temperature. At the time of writing, the hotel is still around, but the restaurant has been rebranded in 2019 as Au Cosy Wine Bar.
