The story behind the image
Last Saturday at noon, the Oktoberfest 2023 was opened by the Lord Mayor of Munich, Dieter Reiter. Now the Fest has been in full swing for five days already. Swing? Oh yes! Here’s a nice shot from the 2006 Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. It shows the Frisbee funride as it swings through the mild autumn air during the blue hour.
The exposure time of 1/16 sec was short enough to hold from hand (probably by leaning on a rail) while avoiding camera shake, and long enough to sufficiently blur the motion of the swinging Frisbee disc. Despite the difficult conditions, I could use the image right from the memory card, which is very nice.
Even better: it makes me wanna attend the Fest tonight (plus the beer, the food, the music, and the mood, of course!)
Cheers!
