The story behind the image
Why, oh why, didn’t I take the EOS M6 with me on that beautiful evening? The answer is simple: When we began our excursion through Hamburg, the sky was grey and dull. Heck, there was even a bit of rain. Then, during dinner, the sky cleared up, and it became one of the most beautiful evenings you could imagine.
Petra even convinced me – despite my slight fear of heights – to visit the viewing platform of the Elbphilharmonie building. Just wow. The blue hour was in full swing, and the night was slowly taking over (a fight the blue hour would lose.) So I took what I had (my Samsung phone) and shot a number of stunning images that express the wonderful mood of that night perfectly.
I love the colors and composition. Please do ignore the slight noise (thanks to smartphone at ISO 1250, eeek) and lack of ultimate sharpness (thanks to me trying to hold 1/17 sec from hand.)
I will return, and I will bring a decent camera. 🙂
