The story behind the image
We had checked in to our hotel – the excellent Motel One Hamburg Alster – in the late afternoon and had enjoyed the (likewise) excellent burgers at Peter Pane in St. Georg which is not far away from the hotel.
Once the hunger was gone, we explored the quarter. The air was still warm, and the sky was clear and we took a nice, slow walk along the Außenalster, a nice bit of movement after the exhausting day. The sunset was approaching and several people had gathered to gaze at the skyline. They were chatting or just silently watching the spectacle. Some were even picnicing.
And I? I took this image. Love it.
