The story behind the image
On our way from Clinton in B.C. to Squamish we followed highway 99 and passed the stunning landscape around Lillooet. Here, the Fraser river has cut deeply into the mountain range and has created a beautiful valley. We stopped next to the highway to enjoy the view and the silence.
Suddenly we heard the long honk of a train in the distance and we could make out the train that slowly made its way up to out location high above the river. It merely crawled up the tracks pulling countless wagons (which I could not capture in this portrait image.)
However, I really like the combination of the powerful locomotives and the stunning landscape.
