The story behind the image
I can’t stop shooting the iconic global headquarter of car manufacturer BMW, seen from the Olympic Park. On the left, the BMW Welt can be seen.
I like this image because it shows their headquarters at a very unusual crop with lots of blue sky. (It would be a pity to put a headline anywhere, but guess that it’s quite tempting.)
Anyway, BMW has always been a pioneer, be it with their cars and engines or with the architecture of their buildings. The headquarter resembles four cylinders in an engine, the core element of their cars for many decades. The building was completed in May 1973. In 2007 it was joined by the BMW Welt, a premium exhibition area, delivery center, and event location. Again, the modern architecture of the building reflects their future-oriented product portfolio.
