The story behind the image
I love to take my camera during the early morning hours and explore the surroundings around sunrise time when only very few people are around. This is pure relaxation for me and enables me to almost merge with the scene and find stunning images.
I shot this image from our recent trip to Grömitz in Germany from the sea pier. The sun was still low enough to cast long shadows but high enough to be overwhelmingly bright. A woman was taking a walk along the beach.
The image required almost not editing at all – it’s almost straight from the camera. I love the bright, high key theme, which visualizes dreams of an early morning summer perfectly. The dune grass adds a natural element that has become rare at the Baltic Sea. Even the lens flare is nice.
