The story behind the image
The southern portion of Sardinia’s west coast – between Terralba and Buggerru – is called Costa Verde (“Green Coast”) for a reason. It’s a mostly undeveloped stretch of land right at the sea, and it is incredibly green. What’s more, it’s also home to some beautiful beaches.
The photo shows Spiaggia di Pistis, and it’s fair to call it a “touristic place”. You’ve got a bar and a restaurant, sun chairs and umbrellas for rent, and a few parking lots. Yet, despite all these features it is not overcrowded.
I was stunned how the few tourists distributed across the huge beach. Sadly, we were just spectators as we wanted to explore the entire Costa Verde on that day. But I hope to return one day to just enjoy the beach and the sea in total tranquility.
