The story behind the image
One of the first stops on our way from Victoria heading north was Cowichan Bay, situated about 55 km north of Victoria. Here, many houses have been built on stilts because their owners needed more room and simply extended their houses towards the seaside.
I took this photo from the Cowichan Bay Boat Launch which has a convenient parking lot next to the houses.
