The story behind the image
The other day we decided to take a guided tour at the State Museum of Egyptian Art in Munich, Germany. And it was a fantastic experience! An experienced guide explained the most important facts and exhibits in easy to understand language, ideal for beginners who have an interest in ancient Egyptian life and art.
This exhibt has impressed me the most: The upper part of a seated statue of Ramses II who holds a crook and a flail. He belonged to the 19th Dynasty, and this is the original sandstone exhibt from c. 1240 B.C.
Sadly, I just brought my smartphone, hence the ‘high resolution file’ is actually quite small (in terms of pixels.) Then again, it’s good enough to wet your appetite for a personal visit in this stunning museum!
