The story behind the image
In a previous post I’ve shared a photo of the lagoon near Alvor in Portugal. That post already shows how Alvor has changed over the decades. Here’s yet another proof.
A wide angle shot across the small dunes and lagoon, with the village of Alvor on the right and just very few boats in the harbour. A lovely scenery.
Back in 1988, we could freely move in the dunes – always watching our steps to avoid bending one of the plants. Today, there’s a board walk to guide visitors of the beach safely through the protected area. This is most certainly a much needed move, but I am glad that we experienced it differently 35 years ago.
