The story behind the image
Medicine Lake is situated 27 km from Jasper, Alberta. The name derives from the fact that it looses its water almost completely every summer and autumn. But where does the water go? It is drained by an underground river system. Because this seemed to be a mystery, the First Nation People called the lake Medicine Lake.
This is a stunning photo of a stunning landscape. I love the reflections of the mountains in the distance as well as the dominant blue colors.
