The story behind the image
For wedding shootings, I like to do a pre-screening of the locations where the couple is going to show up, i.e. the townhall, the church, and the location of the party. Of course, I bring the camera and capture images where I can imagine the couple to pose for the shots. I think this is essential for the ‘official’ shots because you usually cannot scout the location while the wedding is already in full swing. (Well, you can, but then you need to be lucky to find the best location.)
I took this image while on a scouting tour for a Munich wedding in summer 2011. The couple had selected the beautiful Blutenburg Castle for their dinner and party. As a side effect, I get some nice shots that I can use to discuss further with the couple (if desired.)
Oh, and this wedding went extremely well: Great location, great couple, great photos! 🙂
